The governors of St Anne’s Catholic School seek to appoint an enthusiastic and effective Pastoral Support Worker. St Anne’s is a highly successful 11–16 girls’ school with a mixed sixth form in the heart of Southampton. Rated outstanding in all areas by Ofsted, our Catholic ethos shapes our commitment to placing staff wellbeing at the centre of every decision we make. Our strong outcomes reflect the positive and successful learning experiences this creates for our pupils. Staff and students consistently speak about the strong sense of community within the school, which is why colleagues tell us they enjoy working here and feel proud to be part of St Anne’s.
Specifics for this role
The Pastoral Support Worker plays a key role in supporting student welfare and behaviour across the school, working closely with Heads of Year, the Senior Leadership Team and external agencies. The role involves providing day-to-day pastoral support for students, particularly those who are vulnerable or require targeted intervention, supporting attendance processes, maintaining accurate safeguarding and welfare records, and liaising with families as required. The successful candidate will be calm, compassionate and resilient, able to build trusting relationships with young people, manage challenging situations professionally, and work flexibly as part of a busy pastoral team, always in line with the school’s safeguarding procedures and Catholic ethos.
