Students and staff at St Anne’s Catholic School & Sixth
Form College are celebrating today after another year of fantastic GCSE
results.
The Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ school had an impressive 42% of
single GCSE awards at a grade 7 or above, with pass grades of 4 or above making
up 85% of the results overall.
A grade 4 is equivalent to a former C grade, and is classed
as a standard pass with a 5 being a strong pass. A 6 is equivalent to a B, 7 an
A and 8 or 9 variations on a former A* marking.
Julian Waterfield, Acting Headteacher, said: “Everyone is
absolutely thrilled with the outcome today. Students, staff and parents are
just all smiles, it’s been an incredible morning and I hope our young people
are feeling as proud of their accomplishments as we are of them.”

Mr. Waterfield added: “Super results like this are a group
effort, and thanks must go to our dedicated teaching staff who provide such
exceptional support and challenge to our students. We are looking forward to
seeing the majority of them again tomorrow morning as they come back to enrol
for Sixth Form and continue their educational journey!”
